Countdown to the MOVE!

16 Aug

So if you didn’t know already we are getting ready to move into a new home. A family home. A home that is better suited for our growing family and a place for little D to be free to run around and have his own big backyard for a playstructure, soccer balls (sorry Poppa Coach….meant to write basketball of course!!), and have lots of friends over to play.

We bought our condo, 2 bed, 2.5 bath, as a new build 2 years ago.  It was a beautiful first place to buy and we have loved the location and what the condo has provided us.  However, once our family started to grow it was quick to see that we would definitely need a bigger place!  As I type this sitting in our small living room I am surrounded by an oversize couch, chair, 3 bouncy/vibrating/swing type chairs, tables, large tv, piles of kids books and some wooden toys.  In our new home, 4 bedrooms on the main floor, possibility of 2 more in basement and large family room, there is room for all of our things, space and room for our family to continue to grow! yes…..little D does need a brother or sister sooner or later!

I gave up my “office” for a nursery and it was absolutely more than worth it, but to be honest I am eager to have some space back for all my business affiliated books, papers, etc.

Our new home has so much potential and we can’t wait to make it ours.  The main floor is completely livable right now with tons of space. Our plan is to slowly chip away at renovating the basement, tearing up some carpet, replacing windows, etc.  My patience will be tested as I like to jump in and get things done. That being said I am sure I will test my lovely husbands patience a time or two as well 😉

So as I sit here surrounded by so many boxes I have a hard time to find space to even cook dinner I am a little sad to leave our first home that the husband and I purchased but even more excited for what is a new beginning as a family.  The laundry continues to pile once again as the machine has broken for the second time!

We will begin moving on the 24th and thankfully have 3-4 days to completely move out of our home right now.  There is no way we wanted to be rushed as we move with a 3 month old baby!  We will have lots of help as ‘baby boys Grandpa & Uncle Dan are coming to help fix somethings up and Grandma will come up once we have moved more things into the house to help watch the baby and unpack, etc.  Then the following weekend Nana & Poppa Coach are to visit, they have yet to see the house and we hope they like it as there is now a place for them to sleep over!

So wish me luck and if you have any advice moving with a babe I would love to hear it!  I am sure we will be fine, but I may have a bit of a meltdown as I adjust to no internet access at the new house for a few days 😉

We moved to Jamaica when Grace was 4 months old! It’s the best time for a big move because Dominic will just sleep on you in your wrap! Drink lots of G2 and take it easy! Have fun and if you need any help – just let me know!

I am happy that Dominic is so content in his sleepy wrap, ring slings, etc it does make it a lot easier! Hope to see you soon!

Hi, I just sent you an e- mail but hadn’t seen this post yet…just ignore it until you have time. 🙂

We just moved in June with dd at 8 or 9 months at the time, everything was as normal as it always has been with her, as long as babe’s with you guys, they seem to go with the flow. Like Arwen said, stayhydrated, well fed and get your sleep too, and don’t fret about getting unpacked because that’ll be too stressful, just focus on normal stuff and unpack with babe in carrier when you find the energy!

Dinner will come when it’s ready, but you probably know that….Try making a couple big dishes to have leftovers for the next few days.

    Still not unpacked today,
    peacefully here,
    Sentient Sage
